Retail Education Program

The Complementary Healthcare Council has initiated an education program for CHC retailer members in Australia specifically designed to assist retailers and/or their staff in improving their skills and image in the marketplace.

The program is designed to bridge the gap between consumer knowledge and consultation with a practitioner, recognising that not all retailers have a practitioner available. This course allows the staff to assist the consumer at store level to make an informed choice regarding the types of complementary health available.

The CHC understands that many retail businesses have employed professional naturopaths, and the education scheme summarised here complements - but does not encroach on - the status of trained staff members or colleagues.

Retailers who have completed the program generate greater confidence amongst their customers about the safety, quality and efficacy of their products.
